Solar Park Project Funding

Dear residents

Many of you will remember the various meetings on this matter.

As a background, the original company (Naturalis) – pledged a voluntary community donation of £7500 per year for up to 40 years.

After planning was granted, Naturalis sold the project to Centrica.

At this point may I thank Ian Bruce and Helen H who went into battle with both companies for release of the funds.

In short, Centrica denied that any community funding was part of the sell and therefore had no liability.

Naturalis stated that the community funding was voluntary and that they were no longer the stake holder and therefore had no liability.

However, both companies have offered a collective £40,000, as a goodwill gesture.

The Parish Council are minded to accept this offer on the premise that a goodwill gesture could be retracted at any point and further actions would have to be via legal channels and thus incur large costs.

We welcome your views on this matter at the next Full Council on 17th September 25
